Hello and Welcome!
My name is Nitish Dashora, and I am a EECS PhD Student at MIT CSAIL studying under Pulkit Agrawal. I am thankful to be supported by the NSF GRFP! I am currently researching robot learning, lifelong learning systems, foundation models, and open-ended knowledge acquisition. I am also interested in ML research, especially that which concerns reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, and general intelligence. My goal is to uncover the underlying factors of human-level intelligence while exploring continually improving robotic AI systems.
I completed my undergraduate in EECS at UC Berkeley where I researched robotic AI under Sergey Levine and neural computation under Bruno Olshausen. I have also worked with Stuart Russell, Amazon AWS, and NASA JPL.
I indeed also have a life outside of my work. I love watching and reviewing movies and TV shows. A few modern directors I like are Denis Villeneuve, Christopher Nolan, and Robert Eggers. I’m a massive fan of cooking and (obviously) eating the resultant food. I also love trying new cocktails or coffees, and enjoy learning all kinds of recipes. Recently, I started producing, using autotune singing, and writing music that resembles alternative rock and indie pop. I grew up on The Strokes but have a fairly diverse taste across a few different genres. To stay active, I like playing soccer and going to the gym! Lastly, when time permits, I like to play video games. I also love conversing about anything really, so feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat – always happy to meet people!
